Welcome to a long-overdue journey to the uncharted territories of Planet Dusky. Completing their triptych for Running Back with four tracks, one of the UK’s most dependable duos shows once again how to connect fun with functionality and funk with efficiency. As tradition breeds progress and no man is an island, Dusky weave compositions from different eras and styles into the DNA of their latest EP. From the jacking rhythms of early Chicago to the emotive qualities of Detroit and the fever pitch aesthetics of the UK sounds of the 90s or the studies of the contemporary scene, it includes the right choice for each taste and need.

Hawthorn (featuring the unchallenged vocal talents of Mr. Robert Owens) is on the deep and moody side of house with just the right amount of grip, while Tea Cake elevates those sentiments with the use of breakbeats, bass stabs and an additional element of energy.

In case you never noticed that the french touch sound, space disco and the rhythmic footwork of British bass music share some similarities, Wildfire is exactly the proof you needed or: a rave signal without sirens.
Finally, High does what is says on the tin. In case of tempo and euphoria, with uplifting pianos, sweeping strings and soaring vocals, it’s a gem on any kind of dance floor.

Swapping BPM for GPM (Goosebumps per minute), Life Signs Vol.3 is made from the heart to nourish the soul. Dusky, but not rusty.
